Argentine fintech Takenos raised $7M in a seed extension led by North Island Ventures and Road Capital Management, with participation from existing investors Variant, Lattice, and Reverie. The round brings its total funding to $12M.
Founded in 2022 by Francisco Goulu, Joaquín Herrera, Simón Bouché, and Lucas Posada, Takenos uses stablecoins to help individuals and businesses move money across currencies and borders. It offers dollar accounts, cards, and APIs for corporate payments, payroll, and treasury management.
Takenos will use the funds to expand into more than 15 Latin American countries by 2027, obtain licenses, develop new products, and hire employees in engineering, compliance, and sales.
Takenos operates in six countries, processes more than $5B in annual transactions, and serves millions of users. Its clients include LATAM Airlines and companies in Bolivia’s energy and mining sectors.
