The profit was boosted by an exceptional gain of ₹40.7 Cr from ixigo’s partial exit from electric bus operator Freshbus. In August, ixigo sold a part of its stake in Freshbus for ₹36.6 Cr, bringing its holding down to 8.27% from 25.66%. The gain also included the revaluation of its remaining stake. Following the sale, Freshbus ceased to be an associate of ixigo.
Before exceptional items and tax, ixigo reported a profit of ₹31 Cr, compared with a loss of ₹4 Cr in Q2 FY26. However, this was lower than the ₹44.2 Cr recorded in the previous quarter.
Other income rose to ₹22.1 Cr from ₹5.2 Cr a year earlier, taking total income to ₹343 Cr from ₹289.4 Cr. Total expenses increased 6% YoY to ₹309.5 Cr from ₹291.9 Cr.

ixigo’s gross transaction value (GTV), which measures the total value of bookings made on its platform, grew 22% YoY to ₹5,304.5 Cr during the quarter. Growth came from its train, bus and flight businesses, alongside an expansion in hotel bookings.

Our PAT was an all-time high aided by our partial sale of stake in Freshbus,” group CEO Aloke Bajpai, group co-CEO Rajnish Kumar and group CFO Saurabh Devendra Singh said in a joint statement.
ixigo is looking to grow its hotel business by encouraging its existing train, bus and flight customers to book stays through the platform. Hotel GTV rose 2.6 times YoY to ₹111 Cr, with a gross take rate of more than 12%.
