E2W maker e-Sprinto has entered the B2C market with the launch of its G1 family electric scooter, priced from ₹89,999, with deliveries scheduled to begin from January 2027

The launch comes as EV makers like Ather, Ola Electric, and Simple Energy expand beyond performance-focused scooters to target families and everyday commuters

e-Sprinto is targeting 5,000 units of G1 sales by March 2027 and plans to add around 150 dealerships by FY28

Electric two-wheeler maker e-Sprinto has entered the business-to-consumer (B2C) market with the launch of its G1 family electric scooter, priced at ₹89,999 onwards, as the startup looks to expand beyond its business-to-business (B2B) fleet operations.

The G1 is available in three variants priced at ₹89,999, ₹94,999 and ₹99,999, respectively, with all prices ex-showroom Delhi. The variants offer battery options of 2 kWh, 2.5 kWh and 3 kWh, with claimed ranges of up to 80 km, 100 km and 130 km on a single charge, respectively.

The scooter features three riding modes, Eco, City and Sport, with maximum speeds of 30 kmph, 40 kmph and 50 kmph, respectively. Developed over nearly two years of research and development, the G1 has been designed for families and everyday commuters, the startup said. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin from January 1, 2027.

e-Sprinto is targeting sales of around 5,000 G1 units by March 2027, cofounders Atul Gupta and Shalu Gupta told Inc42.

The launch comes amid a broader push by electric two-wheeler makers to tap the family scooter segment, traditionally dominated by petrol-powered scooters. While Ather Energy has its family-focused Rizta range, Simple Energy entered the segment with its Wave scooter in 2026, priced from ₹1.09 lakh.

Ola Electric, meanwhile, has expanded its S1 portfolio across price points, including scooters below the ₹1 Lakh price point.

The trend points to EV makers looking beyond performance-led models and early adopters to reach households and everyday commuters, making affordability, comfort, storage, reliability and after-sales service key areas of competition.

Founded in 2022 by Vinod Gupta, Atul Gupta, and Shalu Gupta, e-Sprinto has built its business around electric two-wheelers for commercial and fleet customers. The startup says it has more than 70,000 vehicles on Indian roads, supported by three manufacturing facilities with a combined annual production capacity of 1.5 Lakh units.

Its B2B customer ecosystem includes mobility and fleet operators such as Zypp Electric, Hala Mobility, Ride EV, Bike Bazaar, Shadowfax, among others. The startup also works with delivery and quick commerce businesses through its partners.

e-Sprinto’s B2C foray comes following a 1,564% month-on-month jump in its monthly escooter registrations to 1,997 units in September, according to Vahan data. The cofounders attributed the growth partly to festive demand and the commissioning of a third manufacturing facility in July, which doubled production capacity and helped the startup fulfill pending orders.

The cofounders claimed that the startup typically sells twice as many scooters as are recorded on the Vahan portal, as its portfolio also includes low-speed scooters that do not require registration.

According to the cofounders, e-Sprinto’s vehicles deployed in commercial operations have an uptime of over 97%. They said operating in demanding fleet environments has helped the startup understand vehicle reliability, servicing requirements, and performance across geographies.

The G1 differs from its fleet-oriented products in both battery configuration and vehicle design. While e-Sprinto’s B2B scooters use swappable batteries, the G1 has a fixed battery, larger 12-inch tyres, and seating designed for families.

The cofounders said the B2C foray aims to diversify the startup’s customer base and reduce its dependence on fleet demand. While commercial customers drive volumes, the dealership network will help it reach individual buyers.

However, dealer margins and the cost of building a retail network could weigh on profitability initially. The cofounders expect unit economics to improve with higher sales volumes and plan to use the startup’s existing manufacturing and service capabilities to support the expansion.

They said e-Sprinto is bootstrapped and EBITDA profitable, with no plans to raise external capital in the near term. The startup expects its revenue to double YoY in FY27 but didn’t give its FY26 revenue number. It is also targeting a double-digit EBITDA margin.

To support its B2C push, e-Sprinto plans to add around 10 dealers a month, targeting approximately 150 dealerships by FY28. These will be standalone outlets, with expansion initially focused on northern India, followed by western and southern markets. The startup plans to enter eastern India in a later phase.

It will fund the expansion through internal accruals and promoter capital. Alongside the dealership rollout, e-Sprinto is investing in R&D and hiring more employees. Its workforce has grown from around 10 in its first year to approximately 260, according to the cofounders.

The expansion comes amid growth in India’s E2W market. Registrations rose 12.2% MoM to 2.07 Lakh units in September, with TVS and Bajaj together accounting for half the market.

The sector has also attracted investor funding in recent months. In Q3 2026, River raised $120 Mn, Yulu secured $93 Mn, and Ultraviolette raised $85 Mn.
