Uruguayan fintech Prometeo expanded its account verification service to more than 110 countries across five continents and launched Risk Intelligence, a product that helps businesses assess risk before moving money across borders.
Risk Intelligence checks the legal status and ownership of companies and individuals, along with sanctions, regulatory signals, adverse media, and corporate registry data. It is available in Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Chile, with plans to expand to Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and the US.
Prometeo also launched Account Verification V2, which allows customers configure verification workflows and automatically routes requests to another eligible data source when one is unavailable.
The new products expand Prometeo’s financial infrastructure for businesses operating across markets. Prometeo connects companies to more than 7,500 financial institutions through a single API and works with SWIFT, Citi, and JPMorgan.
“Companies operating across borders need more than a basic yes or no account check. They need to know that an account is valid, that it belongs to the intended holder and, increasingly, that the company or person behind it is appropriate to engage with,” said Ximena Alemán, Co Founder and Co CEO of Prometeo.
