Emilia AI raised a $1.5M pre-seed round led by Prosus, which invested $1M.
Founded in 2024 by Colombian entrepreneurs Andrés Cajiao and Sebastian Rojo, Emilia AI uses AI to analyze restaurant operations through existing security cameras. Its platform combines video and point of sale data to identify sales opportunities, fraud, and operational issues in real time.
Emilia AI will use the funds to develop its platform and expand in Brazil, its main market, before entering other Latin American countries.
Emilia AI tested its technology with Alife Nino, which operates more than 100 restaurants in Brazil. According to Emilia AI, the pilot generated about $300 in additional monthly revenue per table at a cost of $10 per table. Emilia AI also ran a pilot with Jin Jin, which is expanding the platform to more than 77 locations.
