Lupin Dental, a Montpellier-based early-stage robotics company focused on developing innovative dental technologies, has announced the close of its €15 million Series A financing round.
The round was led by Fynveur with a €10 million investment, with participation from its existing shareholders and private investors. The financing was further complemented by a loan from Bpifrance. Fynveur, together with its advisor, Invus, will partner closely with Lupin Dental to provide strategic guidance and support its operations. Invus will also join the company’s board.
Co-founders Dr. Galip Gürel and Dr. Stefen Koubi said, “Lupin Dental opens a new chapter with this important milestone. It reflects our investors’ confidence in our vision and enables us to accelerate our mission to transform dental care through innovation.”
Founded in 2019 by Dr. Gürel and Dr. Koubi, Lupin Dental is a robotics company in the dental field. The company develops robotic solutions designed to enhance procedural precision, improve clinical workflows, and support patient outcomes.
According to the company, it was founded to bring the benefits of supervised automation to veneers and other complex dental treatments. The Lupin Robotic System is a supervised automated robotic platform for minimally invasive tooth preparation procedures for aesthetic veneers.
The company states that the system comprises a software suite for designing a patient’s final smile and generating the required tooth preparation treatment plan. The robotic workstation then executes the treatment plan to ensure that the patient’s tooth is accurately prepared to receive the final dental restoration (prosthesis).
In June 2026, the company announced that it had received UKCA certification for the Lupin Robotic System, authorising its commercialisation in Great Britain. This development builds on prior regulatory clearance obtained in India. However, this system is not currently approved for clinical use in the USA or EU.
Earlier this year, the company announced the appointment of Michel Mayer as chairman of the board, and Philippe Veran as a new member of the board. Mayer is a seasoned executive who served as Chairman and CEO of Freescale Semiconductor, a leading US-based semiconductor company spun out of Motorola.
Veran is a French entrepreneur and prominent figure in the dental technology industry. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Biotech Dental, one of France’s leading manufacturers of dental implants, orthodontic aligners, and other dental solutions.
Lupin Dental plans to expand partnerships with leading academic and medical institutions and dental professionals, including individual dentists and Dental Service Organisations (DSOs), to support the widespread adoption of its robotic technology.
