
Ribbit Capital V sold 6.3 Cr shares at ₹196 apiece while Ribbit Cayman GW Holdings V sold nearly 5 Cr shares at ₹196.06 apiece
This is the latest in a series of bulk transactions after Y Combinator and Friale offloaded Groww shares recently. Ribbit had also earlier sold 14.2 Cr Groww shares back in May
The US-based fintech investor earned around ₹2,217.3 Cr from offloading the stake amounting to around 2% of Groww’s equity
Groww’s early backer Ribbit Capital has offloaded a cumulative 11.31 Cr shares via two bulk deals today, as per NSE market data.
Ribbit Capital V sold 6.3 Cr shares at ₹196 apiece while Ribbit Cayman GW Holdings V sold nearly 5 Cr shares at ₹196.06 apiece. Both transactions were executed at a less than 0.1% discount to the stock’s closing price as of today’s trading session.
The total value of the deals minted Ribbit Capital around ₹2,217.3 Cr, with the shares sold amounting to around 2% of the company’s equity. The identities of the buyers couldn’t be discerned as of now.
Ribbit Capital held around 10.1% stake or 63.35 Cr shares in Groww via the aforementioned two entities, as of June 30, 2026.
In a separate development, Groww earlier disclosed that CTO Neeraj Singh’s brother and promoter group member Vikas Singh has released 10 Lakh equity shares in the company to Infina Finance Pvt Ltd on August 18.
Notably, the stock has already seen a few other major bulk transactions of late.
Last week, Y Combinator sold 7.47 Cr shares of Groww, minting ₹1,435.2 Cr. Friale also sold 1.13 Cr shares of the firm to Goldman Sachs in a block deal worth ₹210.4 Cr earlier in June.
Back in May as well, Ribbit Capital had offloaded 14.2 Cr shares worth ₹2,567.1 Cr in open market transactions following the expiry of the six month IPO lock-in period.
Notably, the US-based fintech investor led Groww’s $21.3 Mn Series B funding round back in 2019. At the time of Groww’s listing, it had raked in ₹854.7 Cr from dumping shares through the offer for sale component of the IPO.
On the financial front, Groww’s consolidated net profit zoomed 94.3% to ₹735 Cr in Q1 FY27. The startup’s revenue from operations also jumped 66% to ₹1,501.4 Cr during the quarter.
Groww’s stock is up more than 26% on a year-to-date basis, and over 32% since its listing. Following the bulk deals, however, it ended today’s trading session 3.3% lower at ₹196.24 apiece on the NSE.
