Kazimi, a Berlin-based mobile cybersecurity startup offering security for mobile apps to protect and verify their first-party data, has closed a €2.2 million pre-Seed funding round.

The oversubscribed round was led by Market One Capital, with participation from IBB Ventures and several prominent mobile industry executives, including ex-Rovio CTO Petri Hyökyranta, ex-Supercell data scientist Janne Peltola, and Erik Massmann, former CFO of the Birkenstock Group and Sportradar AG.

“Until now it has been technically impossible for app developers to have true visibility on which signals originate from real users and which signals come from bots. With our advanced security solution, we are closing the loop and enabling app developers to protect their most important resource – their first party data,” said Kazimi co-founder and chief product officer, Andreas Naumann

Founded in 2024 by August Joseph (CTO), Chase Gummer (CEO), Ville Mikkola (COO), and Naumann, Kazimi secures the communication signals of an app, enabling app developers to collect and verify their first-party data, detect all forms of non-human, bot activity, and distinguish real users from fake users with compliant, privacy-preserving technology.

The company highlighted that in 2026, bots officially eclipsed human activity on the internet for the first time in history, according to Cloudflare, yet mobile businesses are unable to distinguish signals from bots from those originating from authentic human interaction.

“The bot crisis in mobile marketing is the elephant in the room – everyone knows mobile channels are intransparent and lack trust across many industries. The ability to understand what’s real and what’s not real has never been more important – both for utilising AI effectively and getting rid of fraud,” said Erik Massmann

The company claims to use cryptography and zero-knowledge proofs to keep app data accurate, secure, and compliant with the highest data-privacy standards. It supports all major mobile platforms, app frameworks, engines, and BI systems. KAZIMI’s clients include mobile gaming studios, rewards platforms, and FinTech apps.

“In the AI era, we believe Kazimi can become the fundamental security layer for the global app economy that enables secure and accurate first-party data at scale, while remaining 100% privacy-preserving,” said Jacek Lubinski, Kazimi lead investor and partner at Market One Capital.

The company plans to use this capital to scale its solution and address the global mobile ad spend market.
