Minister Ajay Dharam Singh convened a high-level meeting with top district officials on Friday (August 7) to assess the worsening drought situation and acute drinking water shortages across Raichur district.

The meeting, held at the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) guest house in Raichur, was attended by key district-level administrative officers, including Deputy Commissioner Poovitha S.

Dr. Singh, who arrived in Raichur from Bengaluru early on Friday morning, instructed officials to take immediate measures to mitigate drinking water scarcity and provide relief to affected populations.

Dr. Singh later conducted an extensive field inspection across Raichur city, Raichur Rural, Deodurga, and Maski Assembly constituencies. During his visit to agricultural fields in Ramdurga Cross, Sunkeshwarhal, Masarkal, and Yaklaspur, he inspected crop damage caused by moisture stress and interacted with farmers to evaluate the extent of drought-induced loss.

He also visited the Kariyappa Tata Temple in Kalmala village.
