BJP State unit president Nainar Nagenthran on Friday (August 7, 2026) urged the TVK-led Tamil Nadu government to act against illegal drugs and instances of violence in the State.

Referring to an incident in Coimbatore district, in which two persons allegedly murdered a man and posed with blood-stained weapons for a social media post, Mr. Nagenthran said it was another case highlighting the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the State.

“The prevalence of illegal drugs and liquor in Tamil Nadu was the reason behind such violent incidents,” Mr. Nagenthran charged. The BJP leader urged Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to control the menace with an iron fist.
