A Cabinet subcommittee formed to study matters related to implementation of the PM SHRI (Prime Minister’s Schools for Rising India) scheme in Kerala is yet to finalise its report, Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen has said.

Addressing mediapersons on the sidelines of an event in the State capital on Tuesday (July 28, 2026), the Minister said the subcommittee chaired by him and comprising Minister for Higher Education Roji M. John, Minister for Tourism P.C. Vishnunadh, and Minister for Excise M. Liju would meet one more time and submit its report without delay.

Though the subcommittee had been tasked with submitting a report in a month, it would require a few more days to complete discussions on all aspects, he said.

The Cabinet is set to hold discussions on Wednesday on PM SHRI, but a final decision is unlikely.
