Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday directed officials and contracting agencies to expedite infrastructure works in Amaravati, stressing that all projects should be completed within the stipulated timelines without compromising on quality.
Reviewing the progress of capital city projects at the Secretariat, Mr. Naidu said the emphasis should remain on speed, quality and timely execution. While noting that the pace of construction had improved in recent months, he said the momentum should be stepped up further to ensure completion of the projects as scheduled.
Describing participation in Amaravati’s construction as a significant opportunity, the Chief Minister urged contracting firms to execute the works efficiently. He assured them that the government was addressing funding requirements and said there should be no delays in execution on account of financial constraints.
Mr. Naidu reviewed the progress of 95 projects worth ₹50,999 crore under execution in the capital region. He directed officials and contractors to achieve a minimum monthly work progress of 7.92% and called for close coordination among departments to resolve issues relating to land acquisition, funding, approvals and project designs.
Stating that Amaravati should be viewed not merely as a cluster of 29 villages but as an integrated urban region linked with Vijayawada and Guntur, Mr. Naidu instructed officials to plan and execute infrastructure works with that broader vision.
Besides road infrastructure, the Chief Minister stressed the need to expand green cover across the capital region as part of sustainable urban development. He also said he would personally monitor the progress of Amaravati works on a regular basis.
Minister P. Narayana, Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad, senior officials and representatives of contracting agencies attended the review meeting.
