Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday (August 4, 2026) directed senior officials to ensure foolproof security arrangements and complete transparency in the conduct of the upcoming police recruitment examinations for 7,437 vacancies following intelligence inputs that the recruitment process could be disrupted by “certain political parties and vested interests”.
He also directed the Cyber Crime wing to closely monitor online activity and initiate action against touts, fake websites and social media accounts that lure candidates with fraudulent promises of securing government jobs.
The Chief Minister, who is also Home Minister, convened an emergency review meeting with Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand and senior police officials after the State Intelligence wing alerted the government that certain political groups and vested interests were allegedly planning to interfere with the recruitment process.
Reviewing the arrangements, Mr. Reddy instructed officials to strictly adhere to all rules and procedures and ensure that the examinations are conducted without any lapses. He stressed that every stage of the recruitment process should be closely monitored to eliminate the possibility of errors or irregularities.
The Chief Minister directed officials to maintain heightened vigilance during the preparation, printing and transportation of question papers. He also instructed them to strengthen security at examination centres and keep coaching centres under special surveillance to prevent any attempts to influence or mislead candidates.
Expressing concern over the spread of misinformation, Mr. Reddy asked officials to take steps to curb the circulation of false information relating to the recruitment examinations on social media and other digital platforms. The Chief Minister further instructed the Cyber Security and Intelligence wings to remain on high alert until the recruitment process is completed.
Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister V. Seshadri, Home Department Principal Secretary Shikha Goel, Police Recruitment Board Chairman V.V. Srinivasa Rao, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, senior police officials and others attended the meeting.
