BMRCL to energise underground metro third rail on Reach-6 from August 10
BMRCL cautioned that any direct contact with the 750V DC third rail or 33kV cables could prove fatal

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has issued a public safety notification announcing that the 33kV traction cables and 750V DC third rail on a section of the upcoming Reach-6 underground metro corridor will be progressively energised from August 10.

According to the notification, the underground stretch between Pottery Town Station and Nagawara Station will be brought under charged conditions in phases. The energisation will cover the sections from Pottery Town to Tannery Town, Tannery Town to Venkateshpura, Venkateshpura to Kadugondanahalli, and Kadugondanahalli to Nagawara.

BMRCL cautioned that any direct contact with the 750V DC third rail or 33kV cables could prove fatal. Members of the public have been strictly advised not to enter the underground metro sections without authorisation once the electrical systems are energised, stated in the notification.
