Spatially launches as the ‘OnlyFans of 3D porn’, minus the ability to move around
A new creator platform is betting there's an audience for 3D spatial porn, complete with AI that converts flat clips into depth. The big VR sites probably aren't sweating yet.

A new porn creator platform solely for 3D spatial videos has launched, following more widespread use of spatial video capture on iPhones.

The new subscription site Spatially lets creators upload 3D spatial video, or submit 2D video to have it converted to 3D using the site’s AI tools.

Spatial video is 3D video captured using two camera lenses simultaneously. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, launched in 2023, were the first iPhones to support spatial video recording, leading to a rise in popularity of the format.

So far spatial video use has been limited in porn and other explicit content, with Spatially hoping to fill this adult content niche. The platform has said, somewhat grandly, that it aims to do for 3D explicit content what OnlyFans did for 2D content.

You can watch Spatially’s porn content through any VR headset that can open a WebXR-enabled browser. That means that models such as the Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro, Apple Vision Pro, Samsung Galaxy XR, HTC Vive XR Elite and Valve Index are among those compatible.

Spatially’s videos can also be viewed in 2D on desktop and mobile devices. The platform has already garnered a healthy library of content, with categories including ‘Striptease’, ‘Fishnet’, ‘Amateur’ and ‘Feet/Legs’. The company charges $14.99 per month to subscribe.

The big VR sites might not be quaking in their boots at the launch, but it’s interesting to see that a new platform views expansion potential in spatial NSFW video, though it would presumably be simple enough, if the category was popular enough, for bigger players to replicate the feature.

One thing worth knowing before you hand over that $14.99, though. Spatial video gives you genuine depth, but only from wherever the camera was placed. It’s not 6DoF, so you can’t lean in or move around the scene, however much the marketing might imply otherwise.
