Rain lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Thursday evening, July 2, catching commuters off guard and leading to waterlogging at a few locations. The city remained under cloudy skies for most of the day before rain began in multiple areas shortly after 8 p.m.

The downpour was particularly intense in Marredpally, AOC Centre, Safilguda and Moula Ali, where many commuters were forced to take shelter under trees and beneath railway bridges as the rain intensified. Waterlogging was reported at a few road junctions, slowing traffic movement in affected areas.

According to data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), as of 10 p.m., Medchal recorded a rainfall of 11.3 mm followed by 9 mm in Keesara, 7 mm in Kukatpally, 6.8 mm in Bowenpally, 6.8 mm in Moula Ali, 6 mm in Nacharam, 5.8 mm in Chintal and 5.3 mm in AS Rao Nagar.
