The HAL police have registered a case against the in-charge and several caregivers of a crèche operating inside an IT company within the HAL police station limits over allegations of physical abuse and cruelty towards the children of IT employees.
The case was registered at the HAL Police Station under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, based on a complaint filed by Tilakesh Kumar.
According to the complaint, the alleged incidents took place on June 25 at the ‘Little Buds Day Care’ facility located within the Capgemini campus at Brookefield. The complainant alleged that the crèche staff, including the in-charge and caregivers, subjected children to physical and mental abuse.
The complaint further alleged that children who cried or created a disturbance were beaten, dragged, forcefully handled, confined inside a washroom, had water poured on them, and were otherwise subjected to physical assault.
It also stated that videos showing children crying were circulated on WhatsApp, bringing the alleged abuse to light.
Meanwhile, Capgemini has issued a statement. “Capgemini’s foremost priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of its employees and their families. We are cooperating fully with the relevant authorities and assisting them in their efforts to establish the facts. As a precautionary measure, we are temporarily closing the Bengaluru on-campus daycare facility,” the statement read.
