Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner Challa Obulesu on Saturday (June 27, 2026) expressed serious ire over the supervisory authorities responsible for the smooth functioning of Anna Canteens.

The Commissioner conducted a surprise visit to the Anna Canteen in Parimala Nagar. He found only three staff members present instead of the required seven. Mr. Obulesu called the supervisory teams and expressed serious displeasure over the lack of supervision.

The Commissioner sought to know why more than half the required staff were not present at the Anna Canteen, and questioned why the supervisory teams were not mending their ways despite repeated instructions. He warned that if the situation persisted, he would lodge a complaint with the Anna Canteen CEO.

Later, the Commissioner inspected sanitation works in the Y-Junction, Ballari Crossroad, Santosh Nagar and Balaji Nagar areas. He directed that measures be taken to ensure bins are placed at commercial shops along main roads and national highways.
