The mercury levels in Telangana dipped after the monsoon spread across Telangana on Tuesday (June 23, 2026), bringing much needed relief from the hot conditions. The highest temperatures stayed above 42°C till the beginning of the week. On Thursday, the highest temperature in the State was 39°C. 

Of the 33 districts, Sangareddy recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 32.7°C, according to data from Telangana Development Planning Society’s daily weather report. 

Out of the 621 mandals, very light (0.3 to 2.4 mm) rain was recorded in 101 mandals, light (2.5 to 15.5 mm) in 73 mandals  and moderate (15.6 to 64.4 mm) in 24 mandals. 

India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad Centre on Thursday has forecast heavy rainfall as very likely to occur at isolated places in Mancherial, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts on Friday (June 26, 2026). Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) were predicted to be very likely at isolated places across the State. 

And on Saturday (June 27, 2026), heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts of Telangana. 

Hyderabad was covered with clouds till late morning on Friday, with drizzle for a short while. The sky over the city and its surrounding areas would be covered with clouds over the next 48 hours, according to the IMD’s forecast on Thursday afternoon. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely in the city towards evening or night.
