Former Vice Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Hanumanthu Lajapathirai on Friday (June 26, 2026) said skill-based education at the primary and intermediate level would help students excel in their chosen careers.

On the occasion of former Education Minister of the Madras Presidency Annepu Parushuram’s birth anniversary, he gave away cash prizes to students who secured the top ten ranks in the Class X examinations. He hailed the Kalinga association’s initiative in providing ₹1 lakh in cash prizes, ₹10,000 each, to meritorious students of all communities.

Mr. Lajapathirai said students of the backward Srikakulam district were second to none, and their achievements in UPSC and other national-level examinations had boosted the confidence of other youngsters.
