Vizianagaram Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy on Friday (June 26, 2026) asked all officials concerned to give top priority to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters’ list and meet the expectations of the Election Commission of India (ECI). He asked them to adhere to the schedule given by the ECI and ensure absolute transparency in completing the revision.

According to him, enumeration forms were given to 15,60,869 persons out of 15,78,949 in the district. Although the distribution is being done quickly, the online submission and digitisation is yet to pick up. As many as 1,28,942 forms were filled up and uploaded in the district.

Mr. Ramsundar Reddy said the SIR, aimed at preparing the voters’ list in a clean manner, would help people provide new data such as change of address and marital status to the enumerators.

Meanwhile, YSRCP and Congress leaders alleged that the distribution of forms was not done in many mandals of the district. Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad Chairperson and YSRCP district president Majji Srinivasa Rao asked the party leaders to be careful with the SIR, since the TDP and other parties might indulge in malpractices and remove the names of YSRCP activists in several places.
