Extending digital literacy to all sections of society is imperative in the era of knowledge-based economy, according to N. Balagopal, Vice-Chairman of the P. N. Panicker Foundation. He was delivering the keynote address at a Reading Day celebration organised jointly by the Department of English and the Literary Club of Government Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram. 

Highlighting the transformative potential of digital technology, Mr. Balagopal stressed the importance of ensuring that digital knowledge reaches every section of society, enabling people to benefit from the opportunities offered by the digital age. 

Anitha K., College principal, presided. Chribuna Viswas P. S., Head of the Department of English, delivered the welcome address, while Hima S. Madhu proposed the vote of thanks. As part of the Reading Day observance, students of the Department of English presented readings from the works of distinguished writers from North and South American literature, celebrating the richness and diversity of global literary traditions. Sanchita J., Reshmi R. L., Nalin Ganesh and Simi R., along with students, participated in the literary presentations.
