The food safety teams of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) conducted inspections at Sattibabu Biryani in Kondapur and 7 Sisters in Hitex on Saturday, June 20 and detected multiple hygiene and food safety violations.

At Sattibabu Biryani, officials found flies near food items as some containers had been left uncovered during the inspection. The teams also observed that the ghee procured by the establishment did not carry proper labelling. Following the inspection, officials instructed the management to ensure that food items are kept covered at all times to prevent contamination and directed the establishment to procure and maintain properly labelled food products in compliance with food safety norms.

At 7 Sisters, the inspection revealed multiple lapses, including the failure to discard prepared food items within the prescribed use-by period and the absence of proper labelling on meat products. Food items were found kept uncovered near drain areas, while broken tiles and slippery flooring were noticed in the kitchen. Officials also observed that hot water sanitation practices were not being followed. In the store room, lizard droppings were found, indicating inadequate cleaning of shelves.
