The State government has taken urgent steps to ensure that salary disbursement and day-to-day functioning in cultural institutions are not disrupted due to vacant leadership positions. Tourism and Culture Minister P. C. Vishnunadh has directed that temporary charge be assigned to officials in institutions where the posts of Secretary and Member Secretary remain vacant.

The decision covers major cultural bodies including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, Moyin Kutty Vaidyar Mappila Kala Akademi and the Cultural Welfare Fund Board. According to the minister’s office, the interim arrangements have been put in place to ensure that employees do not face delays in salary payments and that routine administrative functions continue without interruption. The move comes amid concerns over administrative gaps affecting the functioning of cultural institutions in the State.
