
A public prosecutor attached to the City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru was caught red-handed taking a bribe of ₹5,000 from a complainant on June 1.
The accused, Savitha Naveen Patil, 55, is serving as a public prosecutor in Bengaluru. She was allegedly demanding a bribe to submit objections in a case registered at the Chennamanakere Achukattu Police Station.
The complainant, Manjunath, 40, a resident of Banashankari, approached the Lokayukta, alleging that the prosecutor had demanded ₹5,000 to carry out official work.
Based on the complaint, the Lokayukta Police registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The accused was allegedly caught while taking the ₹5,000 bribe amount. She was arrested.
