An international expert team reviewing the construction of the Polavaram irrigation project has expressed satisfaction over the pace and quality of the work at the site.
International expert Sean Hinchberger began a three-day inspection on Wednesday (May 27, 2026) and conducted a detailed review of the construction activity.
Officials presented the progress so far, including the status of the diaphragm wall works and the Earth-cum-Rock Fill Dam (ECRF) construction. The expert team said earlier technical recommendations had been carried out, helping speed up the works without compromising quality.
The delegation also inspected the Gap-1 and Gap-2 sections of the ECRF dam and praised the coordinated work of the Central and State agencies and the executing company in carrying out the project. Water Resources Department Special Chief Secretary Shashibhushan Kumar and others were present.
