
Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha, on Thursday, inspected the preparatory arrangements for the upcoming inauguration of the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) at Sanathnagar, and directed officials to expedite pending civil and infrastructure works to ensure the hospital becomes fully operational at the earliest. The inauguration date has not yet been confirmed by the Health minister’s office.
During the visit, the Minister conducted a detailed inspection of all departments within the hospital and reviewed the medical infrastructure established at the facility. He personally examined the modern medical equipment, laboratories, blood bank and other healthcare facilities developed at the hospital, which officials said has been built to international standards.
He instructed officials to provide sufficient toilet blocks for both outpatients and inpatients visiting the hospital. He also directed the development of a multi-level parking system within the premises to ensure smooth traffic movement and avoid congestion.
The Minister further instructed officials to establish a dharmashala for attendants accompanying patients and set up two canteens within the hospital campus. He stressed that the construction of the administrative building and the TB Hospital Board office within the complex should be completed expeditiously.
As part of security arrangements, the Minister directed officials to establish a police outpost at the main entrance of the hospital. He also instructed departments concerned to ensure uninterrupted essential services such as drainage, sanitation management and water supply at the facility.
He also directed officials to prepare cost estimates for completing all pending works required for the full-scale operationalisation of the TIMS.
