Oman’s air accident investigation body has reported that the occurrence was rated an accident and is being investigated.

An Air India Express Boeing 737-800 operating from Muscat to Kannur on May 15, 2026, aligned with the runway edge lights during take-off, treating them as the runway and damaged multiple runway lights in the process.
The incident led to a hydraulic leak and a flat tire, and the crew rejected the take off after hearing a “big bang” and an alert in the cockpit.
