The Supreme Court on Monday (May 25, 2026) issued a notice to the Union government, the National Testing Agency (NTA) and others on petitions concerning the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.

The top court said it was “really sad” to see the same mishap happening despite detailed orders and the setting up of a monitoring committee by the apex court.

The Court further directed the NTA to file an affidavit in three days. Former ISRO scientist K. Radhakrishnan, who headed the monitoring committee, has also been asked to file an affidavit. The case has been listed later this week on an urgency basis.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which took over the investigation has so far arrested 11 accused in the case.

The NEET (UG) 2026 exam for admission to undergraduate courses in medical colleges, held on May 3, was cancelled two days later amid allegations of paper leak. A re-examination has been scheduled for June 21.
