As Maharashtra enters a defining phase of redevelopment and infrastructure transformation, discussions around urban expansion, regional connectivity, maritime growth, and investment-led development have become increasingly important.
From the emergence of the extended Mumbai Metropolitan Region and new growth corridors to large-scale redevelopment projects reshaping urban landscapes, the State is undergoing a structural shift that is redefining its economic future.
Against this backdrop, The Hindu Group is organising the Maharashtra Infrastructure Conclave 2026, a high-impact platform bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, urban planners, infrastructure experts, investors, and developers to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping Maharashtra’s next growth story.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. on May 22 at Taj President, Mumbai.
Presented by the Adani Group, the conclave will focus on key themes such as redevelopment, regional expansion, maritime growth, integrated infrastructure, investment opportunities, and the evolving role of cities in driving economic momentum. The event aims to foster dialogue on how infrastructure can support sustainable growth, improve urban living, and position Maharashtra as a global investment destination.
Key dignitaries include Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, MP Shrikant Shinde, Cabinet Minister Girish Mahajan, Cabinet Minister Ashish Shelar, Minister Nitesh Rane, and BMC Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide. Mr. Eknath Shinde will deliver a special address on the “Mumbai to Surajgaad” vision.
In a session on navigating the financial capital, Ms. Bhide will be in conversation with Vinaya Deshpande, Chief of Bureau, Maharashtra, The Hindu. A panel discussion titled “Mumbai and beyond” will see deliberations on the plans for an expanding metropolis. It will bring together IAS officers Sanjay Mukherjee and Mahendra Kalyankar, Mr. Shrikant Shinde, and Mr. Ashish Shelar in conversation with Pankaj Joshi, Principal Director, Urban Centre Mumbai.
Another discussion on “Kumbh: The Spiritual Boost for a Regional Economy” will feature Mr. Mahajan, Manisha Khatri (Municipal Commissioner, Nashik Municipal Corporation), Shekhar Singh (Commissioner, Nashik Kumbh Mela), and Lubaina Rangwala (Program Head, Urban Development, WRI India), and will be moderated by Lalatendu Mishra, Senior Deputy Editor, The Hindu. Mr. Rane will speak with Ms. Deshpande on opportunities in the maritime sector. The Australian Consul General, Paul Murphy, and Finland’s Consul General, Erik Hallstrom, will also join her for a discussion on global perspectives on Mumbai.
