Eicher Motors Limited(EML) Managing Director and Royal Enfield Chief Executive Officer B. Govindarajan met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Monday and thanked the State government for extending incentives for the proposed Royal Enfield motorcycle manufacturing unit near Tirupati.
During the meeting, Mr. Naidu assured the company of all possible support and urged Mr. Govindarajan to ensure that production commenced within 18 months. Mr. Govindarajan said the company was investing ₹2,500 crore in the manufacturing facility coming up at Rallakuppam and Vanalluru villages in Satyavedu mandal of Tirupati district.

He said the project would include a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit, a testing track, a research centre and a vendor park ecosystem. The company aims to produce nine lakh motorcycles annually and plans to introduce an electric model under the Flying Flea C6 brand.
Mr. Naidu also briefed the EML delegation on the renewable energy projects being implemented in the State and highlighted initiatives related to solar and wind energy generation, pumped storage projects and battery energy storage systems.
