Vipin Wilson, Assistant Commandant, CRPF, a recipient of the Shaurya Chakra 2026, has been honoured by the Don Bosco College Alumni Association at a function held in Thrissur, Kerala, recently.

The Shaurya Chakra is India’s third-highest peacetime gallantry award.

At the ceremony, Mr. Wilson, a Thrissur native and alumnus of Don Bosco College, Mannuthy, was felicitated jointly by former principal of the college Paulson Chalissery, current principal Fr. Jimmy Jose, and alumni association president Shravan Paul.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Wilson recalled the operation in the Borobekra area of Jiribam district in Manipur on November 11, 2024, which earned him the honour.

“We were able to thwart an armed attack by a group of insurgents on a CRPF post in Borobekra, neutralising 10 of them. We ensured the safety of our personnel at the post, prevented major civilian casualties, and foiled a significant attempt by insurgents to destabilise the region,” he said.

The event brought together faculty members, alumni and well-wishers.
