The Addapallakki Utsava, a traditional procession of seers of Veerashaiva Pancha Peethas, was held in Shivamogga on Sunday (May 17) and attracted hundreds of devotees.

Veerasomeshwara Shivacharya Swami of Rambhapuri Peetha, Siddalinga Shivacharya Swami of Ujjain Peetha, Bhimashankaralinga Shivacharya Swami of Kedar Peetha, Channasiddharama Shivacharya Swami of Sreeshyla Peetha, and Chandrashekhar Shivacharya Swami of Kashi Peetha were carried in palanquins on the main streets of the city. Devotees joined the procession, which began at Gandhi Bazar and concluded at Allama Prabhu Park.

Among those who walked in the procession were former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, B.Y. Raghavendra, Shivamogga MP, legislators S.N. Channabasappa and Dhananjay Sarji, and S. Rudre Gowda, former MLC.

Later in the evening, a public meeting ‘Dharma Jagruthi Samavesha’, was held at Allama Prabhu Park. Mr. Yediyurappa was felicitated on the occasion for completing 50 years in public life.
