A 65-year-old man from Maharashtra died after falling off a moving train near Bekal in the early hours of Sunday. The deceased, identified as Prakash Ganeshmal Jain from Sakali, was a passenger in the B1 coach of the Mangala Express. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. when Jain reportedly fell off the train accidentally. The emergency chain was pulled to halt the train after fellow passengers witnessed him falling. The Bekal police arrived at the scene and launched a search operation. Jain was found injured near the Bekal railway station and was rushed to the Kasaragod General Hospital where the doctors declared him dead. The body has been shifted to the morgue.
