The Alumni Association of Government College, Chittur, will hold a gathering of old students and teachers on the college campus on Friday. Former teacher and Padma Shri awardee K. Omanakutty will be felicitated at the gathering.
Alumni Association’s student support scholarships named Chiraku and excellence awards will be given away at the function. Scholarships will be given to 17 degree first year students, 10 second year students and 11 third year students.
T. Nandakumar, former student and former Union government Secretary, will be the chief guest. The Alumni Association played a crucial role in getting the NAAC A+ accreditation for the college, said its president K. Jayadevan.
