BJP MLA Shashikala Jolle and her husband and former MP Anna Saheb Jolle were among the 21 elected as directors to the Shri Beereshwar Co-operative Credit Society in Examba near Chikkodi in Belagavi district on Sunday. All the directors were elected unopposed.
The cooperative society started in 1991 in Examba village has now grown into a multi-State finance institution with 225 branches in three States, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa, Mr. Jolle said after the elections.
He said that the society has had unanimous elections since inception. He thanked farmers, directors, employees and depositors for their cooperation.
Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies and Returning Officer Mallappa Rahutannavar announced the names of the winners.
Chief Manager B.A. Gurav, CEO Vijay Raut and other officers were present.
