P. Parameswaran Master, a pioneer of library movement from Tanur, was commemorated on his 25th death anniversary. Inaugurating the function, Minister for Sports V. Abdurahman said that the new building of Sobha GLP School at Tanur would be named after Parameswaran Master.

Commemorating Master, the first recipient of the P. N. Panicker Award, The Minister said he had deeply influenced society by inspiring the younger generation to appreciate the importance of reading.

Mr. Abdurahman felicitated P.V. Rajamani, Master’s daughter and an exponent of the library movement. Writer P. Surendran was the chief guest. CPI leader Ajit Koladi and BJP leader K. Janachandran commemorated Parameswaran. O.K. Baby Shankar presided over the function.

Mujeeb K. Tanur welcomed the gathering. A.P. Subramanian proposed a vote of thanks.
