Hyderabad police began a probe after a family reported loss of nearly two kilograms of gold from their residence while they were at home in Domalguda on Thursday morning.
The family claimed that the theft took place even as they were present at home.
Meanwhile, on Thursday night, the Domalguda police said that they would register a case and begin verifying the details on Friday.
“We will verify the details,” said the police.
Police also said that they will launch an inquiry to determine whether the theft involved any internal assistance or if it was the work of professional burglars.
