Australian Olympic champion Jessica Fox has quietly split from her long-term French partner, Mathieu Biazizzo.

The gold-medal-winning canoeist quietly split from her French boyfriend in May prior to competing at the Paris Olympics, media reports have revealed.

The couple are said to have \'simply grown apart\' because of the long distances over many years that came with balancing the relationship and their careers, reported the Daily Telegraph.

The notoriously private pair had been together for around nine years and met through the sport as he is also a professional canoe slalom athlete.

After the season would end, Fox, 30, would extend the season to stay in Europe with Biazizzo, 33, while he would often travel to Australia over the summer.

It\'s been an incredible year for Fox, winning multiple World Cups and two gold medals at the Paris Olympics in July and August.

Her younger sister, Noemie, 27, also won gold at Paris in the Kayak cross event.

Since returning home from the Paris Olympics, Fox has been in demand from sponsors Adidas, Red Bull, Toyota, L’Oreal Paris, Grant Thornton and Sydney Water as she prepares from the LA Olympics in 2028.

It remains unknown if Fox will continue in a bid to compete at the 2032 Games in Brisbane.

She is regarded by many as the greatest paddler of all time and coached by her mum  Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi, who was a bronze medalist in the event for France at the 1996 Olympics.

Fox\'s father Richard is a five-time world champion who represented Great Britain at the Barcelona 1992 Olympics.

He also had the rare honour of live calling Jess\' gold medal win in the K1 final.

Four-time Olympian Fox served as one of Australia’s flagbearers at the recent opening ceremony, a feat she called \'probably the greatest moment of my career.\'

Her next competition will see Fox compete at the Oceania Championships in January next year ahead of the Canoe Slalom World Championships coming to Penrith in October.
