Sir Ben Ainslie was recorded off-camera saying “F***ing w***er” following a tense exchange with a New Zealand commentator in the 37th America’s Cup on Sunday, 13 October.
The Olympic gold medal-winning British sailor’s team went 3-0 down when Stephen McIvor asked if Sir Ben still felt his team was close to their opponents in performance.
The pundit added that he didn’t get that feeling from Sir Ben’s boat before the sailor responded: “Maybe that’s the Kiwi commentator in you, mate.”
Sir Ben’s microphone then caught an explicit remark.
