Citroen will soon launch the Basalt, its very first coupe SUV in the Indian market. It is all set to debut on 2 August, and ahead of this, the model has been spotted reaching dealerships in a new red colour.

The colour seen in the spy picture is completely new in Citroen’s paint palette as no other model gets this exterior colour hue. Meanwhile, the Basalt will carry most of the elements from its SUV sibling, the C3 Aircross, including split LED headlamps, DRLs, flap-style door handles, and the dashboard layout.

However, there are distinguishing elements like a revised grille, squared-off wheel arches, new set of alloy wheels, tweaked taillamps, and a completely redesigned rear quarter attributing to its coupe nature.

Moreover, in recent teasers, the brand revealed a few features of the upcoming Basalt SUV. It will come loaded with a floating touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument panel, automatic climate control, rear armrest, and headrests with side support.

Mechanically, the Basalt coupe SUV is set to make use of the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine coupled with a six-speed manual and an automatic torque converter unit. Customers who are interested in this coupe SUV can put down their names for a token amount of Rs. 25,000 at select dealerships. Upon its launch, the Basalt will compete against the upcoming Tata Curvv coupe SUV.
