World leaders have started reacting to the surprise move by President Joe Biden as he announced his exit from the 2024 presidential race. UK PM Keir Starmer praised Biden’s political career as “remarkable” and added that he looks forward to working with him for the remainder of his term.

PM Starmer, in a post on X, said “I know that, as he has done throughout his remarkable career, he will have made his decision based on what he believes is best for the American people.”

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also thanked President Biden for strong transatlantic ties, a trustworthy US-German relationship, and a strong and robust NATO.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his appreciation for Biden and posted on X, “I’ve had the pleasure of knowing President Biden for many years, and I can attest that he is a remarkable individual driven by his love for his country. As President, he has been a reliable partner to Canada and a genuine friend. I extend my heartfelt thanks to President Biden and the First Lady for their dedication and friendship.”
