    Turbo (Sony LIV)

    The Malayalam-language action comedy film directed by Vysakh and written by Midhun Manuel Thomas, stars Mammootty in the titular role, with Raj B. Shetty, Sunil, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anjana Jayaprakash, Niranjana Anoop, Bindu Panicker, Dileesh Pothan, and Shabareesh Varma in prominent roles. Music was composed by Christo Xavier, while Vishnu Sarma and Shameer Muhammed handled the cinematography and editing, respectively. Turbo was theatrically released on May 23, 2024, receiving mixed reviews from critics.

    Malayalee from India

    The comedy-drama directed by Dijo Jose Antony and written by Sharis Mohammed. Produced by Listin Stephen under the Magic Frames banner, the film stars Nivin Pauly, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Anaswara Rajan in the lead roles, with Deepak Jethi and Shine Tom Chacko in supporting roles. The film’s music is composed by Jakes Bejoy.

    Nadanna Sambhavam

    The film explores the dynamics of toxic and healthy marriages through the lens of Shankaran Unni, a stay-at-home husband, and his working wife, Roshy, who move into a well-to-do gated community. Their unconventional arrangement piques the curiosity of their neighbors, Ajith and Dhanya. The film provides a critical look at sexist attitudes and the importance of giving women agency. The performances of Biju Menon, Shruti Ramachandran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Lijomol Jose stand out in portraying the complexities of modern relationships.

    Pattaapakal 

    Written by PS Arjun and directed by Saajir Sadaf, features Krishna Shankar, Sudhi Koppa, Johny Antony, and Kichu Tellus in the lead roles. The film offers an entertaining watch filled with light moments and dark humour drawn from real-life situations, reminiscent of the Coen brothers’ narrative style.     Mandakini

    Directed by Vinod Leela and produced by Sanju Unnithan under Spire Productions, stars Althaf Salim, Anarkali Marikar, and Ganapathi S. Poduval. Released on 24 May 2024, the film received positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success. The story revolves around Aromal and Ambili, who tie the knot, excited to start their new life together. On their wedding night, Aromal’s cousin, noticing Aromal’s nervousness, mixes alcohol with a fruit drink in Aromal’s bedroom. Unaware, Ambili drinks it, thinking it’s juice, while Aromal drinks regular juice from the kitchen. Intoxicated, Ambili reveals she had a serious love affair before marriage with Sujith Vasu and insists on meeting him immediately.
