    2 killed and 6 wounded in shooting during Juneteenth celebration in Texas park


    At least two people died and six others were injured, including two children, at the weekend shooting which happened at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas, authorities confirmed as reported by AP.
    The incident occurred shortly before 11 pm on Saturday (Local times) during a Juneteenth celebration, approximately 19 miles north of Austin. According to Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks, the shooting began following an altercation between two groups during a concert at the event.
    Chief Banks said in a press conference that the two people who were pronounced dead at the scene were not involved in the initial argument.The shooting took place near a vendor area, away from the concert stage.
    Emergency responders, including police officers and fire department personnel who were present at the event, immediately provided medical assistance to the wounded. The victims were subsequently transported to local hospitals.
    Austin-Travis County EMS reported on social media platform X that six people — four adults and two children — were taken to local trauma facilities with potentially serious injuries.
    As of Sunday, authorities have not identified any suspects and it remains unclear how many shooters were involved in the incident.
    Chief Banks expressed his sorrow over the tragic event, saying, “It breaks your heart for a family that was coming out to enjoy their evening and now their life is forever changed as a result of somebody who could care less about somebody else’s life.”
    The investigation is ongoing as police continue to gather information and seek witnesses to the incident.
