After facing criticism for using ‘her’ voice for the latest version of GPT 4o, OpenAI has recently made several key updates to ChatGPT. Reportedly, ChatGPT will provide its previously paid voice features to all users for free.
\n\n\nIt seems like, after the debate around GPT 4o’s ‘voice controversy’, to enhance user accessibility, ChatGPT will free its voice features. Additionally, ChatGPT will discontinue its ‘Sky’ voice option from the platform.

\n\n\n“All ChatGPT Free users can now use browse, vision, data analysis, file uploads, and GPTs,” OpenAI tweeted.
\n\nReportedly, the voice chat feature which was initially exclusive to paid subscribers, will be free to all users. The new plan aims to democratize advanced AI tools, ensuring that more users can experience AI-powered conversations without a financial barrier.
\n\n\nFrom what it is understood the new feature will support a hands-free operation mode. This does not include any volume limits and is based on device settings.
