Malaysia Masters Semi-Final, PV Sindhu vs Busanan Ongbamrungphan Live Score: PV Sindhu registered an 88-minute come-from-behind win against a gritty Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand 13-21, 21-16, 21-12 at the Malaysia Masters in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday to reach her first World Tour final in 2024

She will face China’s Wang Zhi Yi in the final on Sunday.

Ongbamrungphan is a very familiar opponent for Sindhu, as they have faced each other 18 times in the past, with the Indian prevailing a whopping 17 times. Sindhu’s only defeat against Busanan, world No 20 currently, came way back in 2019 at the Hong Kong Open. But after a slow start, Sindhu was in danger of losing for the second time. She recovered midway through Game 2, however, to improve the impressive H2H to 18-1.

In the quarterfinals on Friday, the World No. 15 shuttler outwitted Han Yue, ranked sixth, 21-13 14-21 21-12 in a 55-minute match to avenge her loss to the Chinese in their last meeting at the Asia badminton Championships in Ningbo last month.

“The third game was crucial for both of us. From the first rally, I made sure I was in the game focused and didn’t give away easy points. I was in control and I was confident of winning. I’m happy with how I played because I lost our last match. It’s a shame as I was leading, but this is like a sweet revenge,” Sindhu had told BWF after the match against Yue.
