Israel plans to replace Palestinian labourers with foreign workers due to security concerns | International

Israel is reportedly initiating a significant initiative to permanently replace all Palestinian labourers with foreign workers, aiming to address perceived security threats. Following the mass invasion and onslaught by Hamas on October 7, thousands of construction and agriculture workers from the West Bank have been prohibited from entering Israel for employment. To prevent potential security risks, the government plans to bar the return of Palestinian workers after the ongoing conflict. The proposed plan involves bringing in 25,500 workers from Sri Lanka, 20,000 from China, 17,000 from India, 13,000 from Thailand, and 6,000 from Moldova. Diplomatic efforts are underway to establish new agreements with these countries.
