6 Highly Anticipated New SUVs Launching Soon (Under 15 Lakh)

Here’s a preview of six upcoming SUVs from automakers like Hyundai, Kia, Tata, Mahindra and Toyota over the next few months in India

Some of India’s prominent automobile manufacturers, including Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Kia and Toyota, are preparing to introduce new SUVs in the forthcoming months. Here’s an outline of the highly anticipated ones:

1. Hyundai Creta Facelift:

On January 16, 2024, Hyundai is scheduled to reveal the updated Creta with a revamped exterior and interior design. Adding to the diversity of the lineup, a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine is set to make its debut producing 160 PS and 253 Nm. Additionally, improvements are expected in the features list with the inclusion of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

2. Kia Sonet Facelift:

Kia hosted the world premiere of the Sonet facelift a couple of weeks ago and its prices will be announced in January 2024. The reservations have already commenced and the deliveries will begin for all variants barring the returning diesel MT next month. It gets a redesigned front fascia and rear end while the cabin has been updated as well.

3. Tata Punch EV:

The Tata Punch EV will be slotted below the Nexon EV in the brand’s domestic lineup and it could be available with two battery configurations with the claimed range of up to 400 km. It will receive cosmetic updates inside and out to differentiate itself from its ICE sibling. The official launch will likely happen in early 2024.

4. Mahindra XUV300 Facelift & 5-Door Thar:

The Mahindra XUV300 facelift will be introduced in early 2024 with big updates inside and out. The design will be heavily influenced by the upcoming BE range and existing crop of Mahindra SUVs while the interior will become more upmarket. The 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines will be retained and a new automatic transmission could join the lineup. The five-door Mahindra Thar will arrive in mid-2024 and it will have notable updates compared to the existing three-door model. Its starting price could be just under Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom).

5. Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor:

The Urban Cruiser Taisor is expected to launch in H1 2024. It will be the badge engineered version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and have minor differences compared to its donor. The 1.2L petrol NA mill and the 1.0L turbo petrol unit could be carried over from the Fronx with manual and automatic transmission options.
