The updated shots from Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech became available last week for everyone including children older than 6 months. 

But public interest in COVID boosters has been meager: As of last spring, only 21% of adults and 43% of seniors nationwide had received the previously updated COVID-19 vaccine.
