    SIIMA Live Updates: The South Indian International Awards (SIIMA) has gone international this year, with the event taking place in Dubai. The two-day awards gala will celebrate movies and film professionals across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada industries. SIIMA 2023 will take place at Dubai World Trade Centre.

    Day 1 will celebrate Telugu and Kannada movies, actors and technicians, whereas Day 1 will focus on Telugu and Malayalam cinema.

    When the nominations were announced in August, SS Rajamouli’s RRR bagged the highest number of nods – 11. Besides this, Adivi Sesh’s Major and Dulquer Salmaan’s Sita Ramam bagged multiple nominations.

    In Tamil, Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2, Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram will compete in the Best Film Category. In Kannada cinema, Yash’s KGF Chapter 2, Rakshith Shetty’s Charlie 777 are the top contenders, whereas in Malayalam, Bheeshma Parvam, Jana Gana Mana, Hridayam bagged multiple nominations.

    The Best Actor list has some popular names this year. In Telugu, RRR actor Jr NTR competes with his co-star Ram Charan. Besides this, Nikhil, Adivi Sesh, Dulquer Salmaan and Siddhu Jonnalagadda are also on the list. In Tamil, Dhanush, R Madhavan, Kamal Haasan, STR and Vikram will compete for the Best Actor trophy. In Kannada and Malayalam, names like Mammootty, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Rakshith Shetty are competing in the acting category. Late actor Puneeth Rajkumar has also been nominated for his role in James.

    In the Best Actress (Telugu) category, Mrunal Thakur, Meenakshii Chaudhary, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nithya Menen, Neha Shetty and Sreeleela will vie for the trophy.

    MM Keeravaani, who brought the Best Song Oscar to India earlier this year, has also got a nomination in the Best Music Director (Telugu) category. He will be competing with Sricharan Pakala, Vishal Chandrashekhar, S Thaman and Bheems Ceciroleo.
